Harry Potter and HBO Max Team Up to Begin Development Process on a New Live Action Series.

HBO Max and Warner Brothers are looking to breath new life into the Harry Potter universe with a live action series. Recent successes by Star Wars and Marvel, two of the biggest franchises on the planet, in this arena have showed that this can be a valuable way to continue telling their stories.

According to the Hollywood Reporter the first steps in the process for this to happen have begun. Right now conversations are happening between Warner Brothers and HBO Max but are in the early stages. In fact no writer or talent has been named at this point. But pitches are being presented and ideas explored about what this new show could look like.

The Wizarding World has had a rough few years. Fantastic Beasts 3 shooting was pushed back from Spring 2020 to September 2020 which in turn is pushing the release back. Drama around Fantastic Beasts star Johnny Depp has him being replaced by Mads Mikkelsen. The new RPG video game that was set to release this year has been pushed back to 2022. It seems a little Liquid Luck is what is needed right now.

So hearing that this universe could expand is magical news to any Harry Potter fan. The universe is so vast with a plethora of unexplored lore that this show could literally turn into multiple ones for years to come.
